This young actor, DJ's first acting stint was in 2010 when he starred in a minor role in Gimik 2010, a remake of the hit 90's Filipino youth-oriented show. Plating the role as Daniel Ledesma and was paired to teen actress Julia Montes.
Growing Up, another youth-oriented show by ABS-CBN, was considered to be Daniel Padilla's big break. The show beat its top-rating competitor during its pilot episode, and it continued to dominate throughout its run. The show was where his now very popular onscreen pair-up with , known as KathNiel, started to gain followers. He reportedly replaced his real life friend Albie Casiño who was originally given the role as Kathryn's leading man.
